Johnna Leary was born in Wellsburg, West Virginia and grew up singing along to Disney Princess movies and reading any book available. As a somewhat reserved little girl and extremely avid student, she discovered a life long love of acting and singing at a very young age. Johnna grew up cantoring at her local church, singing in various school productions and at local music festivals and singing the National Anthem at high school sporting events (Since she wasn't very athletic, it was nice to participate in sports in some way). After being diagnosed with Type I Diabetes at two years old, she developed a strong sense of perseverance and a determination not to let anything stop her from pursuing her goals.
Johnna recently graduated with a B.A. in Vocal Performance – Musical Theater from Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. She was an active member of Sigma Alpha Iota, the international women's music fraternity, and not only performed in university shows and concerts, but wrote about the arts as the Arts and Styles Section Editor for the Shepherd University newspaper, The Picket. Generally quirky, adorably awkward and extremely organized, Johnna split most of her time between studying and singing and still enjoys making life a balancing act between performing, working and the occasional chance to go swimming, do some cross-stitching or take photos.
